Remizov: shortening prison terms of figurants in Volkov's won't repeat Manege Square riots
The mitigation of sentences to those guilty of murdering Yuri Volkov adopted by the Russian Supreme Court will not lead to mass protests, said Mikhail Remizov, President of the National Strategy Institute. Fans of the "Spartak" FC also believe that shortening of the terms would not cause any broad social response.

Cherkesov considered the verdict on the case of Sviridov's murder unjustified
| During consideration of his appeal in the Supreme Court of Russia Aslan Cherkesov earlier acknowledged guilty of murder of football fan Yegor Sviridov asked the court to avoid the sentence and refer the case to a new consideration. The Supreme Court reduced his custody term from 20 to 19 years and 8 months. The verdict of guilty was confirmed, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. |

Maikop to host Congress of Circassians of Adygea to discuss status of Syrian compatriots
| Maikop began preparations for the Congress of the Circassian nation of the Republic of Adygea. On January 22, the decision to convene the Congress was adopted at the extraordinary meeting of the Board of the Public Movement "Adyge-Khase Circassian Parliament" of the Republic of Adygea.
